MAY 2021 — At the end of an incomprehensibly busy second semester of graduate school, I was awarded the Ownings-Sweet Fellowship on Friday, April 3, 2021 for my upcoming thesis work over the summer.

For this, my gratitude goes to Dr. Gabriel Hankins, Director of Graduate Studies and Associate Professor, who informed me of the fellowship and helped me with my application. I also thank the couple who donated to Clemson University's Master's degree program. This couple enabled me to continue my work thanks to their generosity.

A special congratulations also goes out to my peers John Gorton and Ayesha Tanzila who were awarded fellowships for their work with literature and rhetoric. Our theses are the result of Clemson's program, which is broad in its interests. Somehow, though, the three of us are attracted to analyzing the language and rhetoric of housing, life-work balance, and the needs and desires of a subset group.
